This commuter bike was created from a steel frame racer chosen from our wide selection of bikes. Paul had a very clear vision of how he wanted the bike to look. We feel we delivered on that vision to the best of our ability. Stripping down an old steel frame racer and rebuilding it with modern gears and straight handlebars is an ideal combination of retro and modern to create a commuter bike perfect for today’s requirements. This is one of our most specialized and popular services.
The custom paintwork in metallic turquoise really throws some light off that these pictures simply don’t do just to. The brake calipers, cranks, handlebars and stem were all painted in matt black to contrast with the bright frame.
That was complimented by the black and blue leather and stitch combination on the saddle and handlebar grips. Custom leather on a bicycle really is the ultimate finish to take it next level.
We finally finished this spec off with some bombproof wheels made from the most durable deep section rims we can source Alex Rims DA28s, which give an excellent finish coupled with extreme performance in an urban environment. This lightweight commuter bike is perfectly specced for the streets of Johannesburg!
The baseball stitch style of the leather is one of my favorite finishes. You can check out more of our leatherwork here
