Paul’s Commuter Bike – a fast and furious ride

This stunning ladies commuter bicycle is now gracing the paving of the Sea Point Promenade.  And what better place to cruise along on such a stunning roadster that’s been custom painted in such a fine colour.

This is a classic example of a mixte style of frame.  You can check out the website here for more examples of mixtes and our other models we have produced in the past.

Mixtes are a French style of frame that get their name from the unisex mix between male and female shape. They offer the perfect blend of both worlds.  They are strong but light, resilient and well balanced.  Perfect for those nippy commutes around town through traffic.

And this particular example has fairly straight upright handlebars with only a slight curve giving good control.  It also has a stripped down small chain guard and no mudguards to keep it light.

Finally the large diameter wheels make it perfect for rolling over the bumps and lumps of Cape Town roads.

Mixtes really are the perfect blend of make and female bicycle and can be comfortably ridden by both men and women.  As you’ll see from the Mixtes page on our website they are defined by their beautiful split downtube that runs from the handlebars down to the read wheel.  Some come fitted with full mudguards and chain guard, some with just full mudguard and some with neither.  They are available in single speed, 3 speed or 6 speed.

A head turned and wheel turner all the way!
